Ark Preschool Begins:

September 6, 2016! On August 29th we will be moving up to our new classrooms, if we didn't already move up this summer, and getting to know each other and our teachers. This is so exciting!

Sprinkler time

Sprinkler time is still a favorite activity for all our children. PLEASE make sure all bathing suits and towels are labeled so we can return them to you at the end of each week. It is difficult for the staff to remember which towel belongs to which child. If you are missing a towel, please let us know. It probably ended up in the Ark's laundry.

USDA/CACFP

Our meal program continues to be a great SUCCESS! Your children benefit from well balanced meals, huge weekly savings to your food budget each week and the convenience of not packing lunchboxes. It is re-enrollment time in the USDA food program.

School Bus Pick up/Drop off times

Winnisquam School District begins school on August 29th. The school bus picks up here at 8:05 AM and your child will receive breakfast if he/she arrives before 7:45 AM. The kindergarten bus drops off at 11:40 AM and the afternoon bus drops off at 3:40 PM.

Reminders

  • The Ark will be CLOSED on Monday, July 4th. Enjoy the day with your family!
  • We are celebrating Summer with a Special BBQ lunch on Friday, July 15th!
  • If your child naps here at The Ark, you need to supply a sheet and blanket for naptime.

The Ark early sprouts program is getting underway with the planting of seeds inside to get our plants started so they will be ready for planting outside. • Purple Room will grow cherry tomatoes and corn.

  • Orange Room will grow carrots, cucumbers, and peas.

  • Annex Room will grow green beans and zucchini.

As we plan our gardens for this year, we could use some help from our families. Please let us know if you would like to help by donating seeds, soil, fertilizer, seedlings, etc. See Ms Heather or Ms Jan. Our preschool children enjoy the whole planting process and learning about how plants grow.

Welcome 2016!

Hard to believe 2015 is behind us already. We are looking forward to another good year here at the ark. in 2015 we saw some great things!

  1. We celebrated our 17th birthday!
  2. Enjoyed another awesome preschool graduation!
  3. Our October Cherrydale fundraiser helped us with the purchase of the new slide. Additional upgrades for the toddler playground and addition to the preschool structure are scheduled for next spring.
  4. Our annual Fall Festival was great fun for all.
  5. The staff Annual Christmas Party was held @ Fire Dragon Ceramics in Franklin. Miss Lisa was the big winner of this years door prize.
  6. 2015 brought us more children and we were able to expand our program to add more classroom space.
  7. We are planning some inside improvements for 2016. Stay tuned for more information as we move into the new year.

Let it snow!

We are happy to have had some snow (with more to come) filling our playground. Please make sure your child has all the necessary gear to play outside (hats, boots, mittens, snow pants, winter jackets). Extra clothes and extra socks should also be packed in case they need to change after being in the wet snow. We don't want anyone to miss out on all the fun because they don't have the warm clothing needed.

Please make sure all items are CLEARLY LABELED with your child's name and that you check labels before taking their things home to be sure you have what belongs to your child.

Slippers are a great option for after outdoor time ;)

Look for your child's progress report soon! Let us know if you would like to schedule a parent/teacher meeting.

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.
— Burton Hillis

Merry Christmas Party!

The Children's Christmas party will be on Friday December 18. There will be a gift exchange between the children. We ask that a boy buy a boy gift and a girl buy a girl gift. Please limit the cost to $5.00 and have your gift to your child's teacher by Wednesday December 16. Let your child's teacher know if this is a hardship for your family.

Please label your gift To: a boy/girl. From: Your child's name. This will ensure that no child will be left out and that they don't receive their own gift. Also, the children who attend kindergarten will have their Christmas at "Big School."

Reminders

Please remember the cold weather means our kids need hats, mittens, boots, warm jackets, and show pants to keep warm outside. We go outside every day weather permitting.

The Cherrydale Fundraiser items should be here soon. We apologize for the delay in receiving those items. We will get them to you as soon as they arrive.
