About Us

Welcome to The Ark, Christian Nursery & Learning Center. We are here to serve you and our community by providing a nurturing atmosphere and a quality preschool program for your child. It is our goal to teach school readiness. We strive to create an opportunity for your child to learn about himself/herself and the world around them.

Each child is a unique gift from God and we shall endeavor to encourage your child's individuality. We consider it to be a wonderful privilege and responsibility to assist you in caring for your child. As you continue to review the materials, including registration information, please contact us at (603) 286-9966 if we can answer any questions or concerns you may have.

History

As the fulfillment of a dream to offer the community the choice of quality early childhood education and care in a Christian environment, Janet Ellis opened The Ark as a licensed Nursery, Preschool and School aged program in March of 1998. We have grown from one child on opening day to our current enrollment. We are still learning and growing!

Vision

  • To maintain a clean and safe environment where parents can have confidence in the quality of nurture and care their child receives each day.

  • To build an atmosphere which fosters an enthusiasm for creativity and a love of learning within each child.

  • To create a community within The Ark where parents, staff, and administration work together to help each child realize that he is a unique gift of God and the promise of America's future.

Philosophy of Education

It is our intention to develop an atmosphere conducive to individual and group learning. We believe that children learn by example as well as direction. Consequently, our staff will endeavor to be a positive role model for each child. Proverbs 22:6 states that one should “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he shall not depart from it.” We will also endeavor to stimulate each child’s desire to learn and explore, as well as to instill both individual and group self control. It is our plan to present a Bible-based, phonetic curriculum that is academically oriented, yet sensitive to each child’s need for mobility and “hands-on” learning. The Ark is designed to provide a learning environment that works in cooperation with the home. Therefore, your role as a parent or guardian is very important. You are your child’s first teacher.
